This project was a collaboration with Cormac Ltd, a Cornwall-based civil engineering leader who have recently expanded to offer specialist infrastructure services across Devon. WDY Construction and Cormac successfully completed the reconditioning of the Victoria Park short-stay and Riverbank long-stay car parks in Bideford. The project marked our first venture with Cormac, and solidified our position as an approved Cormac contractor thanks to the work of our dedicated, professional team of experts.
Victoria Park, an urban park that opened in 1912, serves as an ideal family destination with diverse recreational facilities and a children’s play area. The Riverbank long-stay car park, located between the park and the River Torridge, features a public slipway for boat launching, adding to its popularity.
WDY Construction’s responsibilities encompassed comprehensive drainage, kerbing, and surfacing work. Our team meticulously addressed the drainage needs of the site. We ensured effective water management to prevent flooding, helping to maintain the car parks’ longevity while providing a safe place to park.
The kerbing work involved precise alignment and installation to facilitate smooth traffic flow and enhance safety. The surfacing was executed to provide a durable, high-quality finish capable of withstanding the anticipated traffic – particularly the high traffic levels seen over the summer months.
