Following the receipt of planning permission, WDY Construction were tasked with relocating a home garage to a more suitable position at the side of a property, making it easier to drive into. This subsequently led to another, much larger project: it was decided that the space left by the former garage would be the ideal place to construct a brand-new home within the property grounds.
With the help of an architect, a plan was devised to ensure both properties retained their privacy. Planning permission was granted in May 2021, and the project reached completion by May 2022, just in time for the summer holiday season. The new build was designed as a luxurious rental property for holidaymakers in the Devon area, featuring modern amenities and stunning architectural details.
The exterior landscaping included the construction of retaining walls with glass and stainless steel balustrades. This added a touch of elegance while still ensuring the utmost in safety for guests, especially those travelling with young children. The outdoor area was finished with strategically placed wooden planters and high-quality paving, creating an inviting space for both relaxation and entertainment.
The outdoor hot tub area enhances the property’s appeal, offering guests a luxurious retreat. The interior of the holiday let boasts an open-plan design with high ceilings and skylights, flooding the space with natural light. The wooden flooring, contemporary furnishings, and state-of-the-art kitchen create a stylish, comfortable environment that offers a ‘home away from home’ for travellers.
This project underscores WDY Construction’s expertise in identifying opportunities for improvement, managing complex builds, and delivering high-quality results, on time and to budget, every time.
